Spread the love!
The Love Them Forward Scholarship is an initiative that aims to honor Lindsay Nixon, a young woman, who passed away at the young age of 21. This fund will be used to provide scholarships for people with special needs to participate in recreational classes, such as music, art, dance, camps, and sports. These classes can provide a sense of joy, accomplishment, and community for people with special needs, but they can also be costly and inaccessible to many. By contributing to this fund, you are helping to ensure that all people have equal opportunities to pursue their interests and talents. Your support will also help to celebrate the life of Lindsay Nixon by creating a positive impact in her name. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
Our goal is to provide at least five, five hundred dollar scholarships per year to individuals with disabilities to participate in recreational activities. The scholarship committee will review each application and determine based on need for each individual. The priority is to cover activities that are not otherwise covered by schools, health insurances, or other grants/scholarships.
On January 24, 2023, at the young age of 21, Lindsay Elizabeth Nixon, left this earth unexpectedly to join Jesus and
the angels in heaven leaving our lives forever changed.
Lindsay was born on January 14, 2002, in Edmond, OK. From the moment she was born, her inner light began to
shine. She lived her entire life in Edmond, OK, attending Angie Debo Elementary, Summit Middle School, graduating
from Edmond Santa Fe High School in 2021. She was enrolled as a student at the Francis Tuttle Technology School,
studying culinary arts and was very proud of getting to cook and learn new things and most recently, her blueberry
muffins! Lindsay attended and volunteered at Life Church in the Loop and in Switch, participated for many years in
Special Olympics, took jazz and hip hop dance classes at Studio J, played basketball, T-ball and much more. She
loved going to Camp in the summer and spending time at church and with her family and friends. When she was not
on the go, she kept herself busy with all her hobbies such as listening to music, singing karaoke, exercising with her
parents, making fun videos, and doing word searches. There was never a dull moment when Lindsay was involved;
she was always a party waiting to happen and she found the fun in all she did. Lindsay never took anything for grant-
ed; she found joy in everything every single day.
Lindsay touched the lives of so many. She shined like no other, the brightest star in the sky. She leaves us all smil-
ing through our tears. Her Mom stated it best, Lindsay truly was ‘joy unspeakable.’ Psalm 18:28, “You light a lamp for
me; the LORD my God lights up my darkness.” While we are filled with so much darkness, the memories of our sweet
girl will forever give us light.
